One of the most impressive new lands built in Disney World is Pandora — The World of Avatar.
Between the floating mountains, bioluminescent plants, delicious food, it’s a place you simply MUST visit during your next trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Plus, this land has some of the most unique attractions including the incredible Avatar Flight of Passage. But, today we noticed that one ICONIC item in the ride’s queue was missing!!
Although the Avatar Flight of Passage attraction itself is incredible, its queue is also fantastic and extremely detailed. One particularly incredible part of the queue is located in the lab portion, where you’ll see a large, life-size avatar “floating” and moving slightly in a tank. It looks so realistic, you’ll swear it could just open its eyes and “wake up” at any moment.
But, today, we noticed that the floating avatar was totally gone!
We asked a Cast Member about it and they said the avatar was “out for a walk today.” This likely means that the avatar itself, the tank it’s in, or another feature of that piece of the queue is getting some kind of refurbishment at the moment.
Avatar Flight of Passage is not the only thing in Disney World getting a bit of a refurb at the moment. The entrance signs in Walt Disney World as well as the Magic Kingdom entrance sign are getting a makeover, and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover is down for a lengthy refurbishment as well. We’ll definitely keep an eye out for more refurbishment information for attractions and areas all around Disney World and let you know what we find!
