If you need a little Christmas, then we’ve got just the thing for you!
Christmas decorations arrived in Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs last week, and now they’re making their way to the resorts! Even though there are no over-the-top gingerbread displays this year, we’re still excited to see what festivities are in store. Today we stopped by Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to find that it had sprung to life with Christmas cheer!
The first thing we noticed in the resort lobby (I mean, how could you miss it?!) is this GORGEOUS Christmas tree!
Disney really goes above and beyond with their Christmas trees, and this year is no exception!
We headed to a higher floor to get a better view — it really just brightens up the lobby and makes everything look so festive. And boy is that thing HUGE!
Each resort’s tree is themed to that specific resort, so we took a closer look to check out the ornaments.
They fit perfectly with the “national park cabin” theming of the Wilderness Lodge!
We love the way it all comes together to make a beautiful centerpiece for the resort lobby!
Also, we noticed some other decorations had been put out, like this wreath above the fireplace.
The rocking chairs in front of this fireplace are a great place to sit and people-watch. Now you’ll have an even better view with all these decorations up!
There was also garland strung up around the upper floor balconies. It adds a really great finishing touch!
We absolutely adore the Disney resort hotels during the holiday season! The ambiance is so cheerful that you’re in a jolly mood before you even see the festivities in the parks! Make sure to stay tuned to DFB as we check out more Disney Resorts to see the holiday additions.

Are you still allowed to go visit the tree at the Wilderness Lodge without a hotel or dining reservation ?
Ken says
There is nothing like the Holiday Season at WDW. This will be the first time in 31 years that my wife and I will not be able to “Hotel Hop” the Monorail Resorts. It was out tradition to enjoy and evening at the world and see the sights. We are so sad… Wilderness is only a short ride on the Bay Lake launch from the Contemporary. 4 resorts, dinner, drinks and entertainment for an evening while enjoying each resort on the line. I will miss it…

Erin, that is still the rule, but folks have been able to get to Resorts using Disney transportation.
