Disney World is constantly preparing for their 50th anniversary coming up in October of 2021.
We’ve seen several upcoming attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and TRON Lightcycle Run, and many places are getting a FULL makeover like the Walt Disney World entrance and EPCOT. One of the most recent projects involved the Magic Kingdom entrance sign, and we’ve got a look at how it’s coming along!
Work on the sign started back in September and based on what we saw today, it appears the sign is almost complete!
We noticed that all of the lifts and work equipment were nowhere in sight. The royal blue and rose gold paint details seem to be finished, as the blue now runs across the entire sign.
However, it is not clear if the sign is fully complete because we saw some spindles on the bottom of some areas on the sign. If you look closely, you can spot them to the left of the “W” and to the right of the “E”.
Whether it is fully completed or not, the sign looks beautiful! We are so excited to see a Disney World project complete, and we think this one makes a huge difference when you enter Magic Kingdom. We will continue to keep an eye on the sign and update you with any new information!

Looks the same, but different. Still iconic though…
