Disney Parks are incorporating some of the coolest technology we’ve ever seen from flying super hero animatronics to ride vehicles that have 360 degree movement.
While the attractions themselves are going to be next level, Disney is also making its guests’ experiences easy and seamless whenever they’re visiting the parks. On top of the My Disney Experience tool already available to visitors, the Disney Genie feature will make planning simple for all guests (even the people who don’t like planning their Disney vacation to a T).
Tilak Mandadi, who serves as Disney’s Executive Vice President of Digital and Chief Technology Officer of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, gave everyone a first look at Disney Genie’s abilities in real time. The technology will help you change your plans on a whim in the parks by giving you a whole new itinerary whenever you need one.
Disney Genie will make personalized recommendations based on which park you’re visiting or what experiences are located nearby. The feature will detail the estimated wait time at the attractions, as well as your suggested arrival from your current location.
Plus, you can make those choices for your whole party, so each member doesn’t have to access Disney Genie individually. Although we’re not sure when the new feature will make its debut alongside My Disney Experience, we’ll give you more details that you need to know before using Disney Genie!

Sounds cool, but im a lil confused-will this be integrated into the My Disney Exp or will it be a completely separate app? Thx.
DFB Sarah says
Mike, my understanding is that it’s a standalone application, but Disney has been fairly vague about that, so we don’t know for sure.

Unless Disney Genie has the capability of giving on demand daily Fast Passes… Wait times will be 2+ hours per popular ride with full capacity crowds! At least with pre-planning, you can schedule 3+ favorite rides (minus the absolute popular) during your park visit and move on with your day relatively satisfied.
For example: The virtual registration for Star Wars Rise of the Resistance only allows a select few to ride, most frustrating ride system ever! I know more guests who have NOT been on that ride, than have experienced it, including our family (not for lack of trying)!
