If you’re looking for a fun companion to bring home from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, building a droid at Droid Depot could be just the thing you’re looking for!
Very soon a BRAND NEW droid will be available in Galaxy’s Edge and this is one you might just recognize from a Star Wars television series!
During a D23 Fantastic Worlds Celebration event today, Disney announced that a BRAND NEW BB unit will be joining the droid family at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Straight from Star Wars Resistance — it’s CB-23!
This remote-controlled droid with exclusive personality chip will actually be available starting TOMORROW (November 17th) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! How exciting!
For those who haven’t watched Star Wars Resistance, StarWars.com describes CB-23 as a “maroon and turquoise BB astromech unit [who] serves as Poe Dameron’s co-pilot while BB-8 keeps tabs on Kaz and his spying mission. At first considered stuck up and pushy, literally clashing with BB-8 when the two come together for a mission aboard a freighter, the two droids eventually come to an understanding.”
In addition to announcing CB-23, Disney also shared that select merchandise from Droid Depot will actually be coming to shopDisney in January! AWESOME!
So, whether you’re headed to Galaxy’s Edge or will be patiently waiting for more merchandise from a galaxy far, far away to become available online, it seems there will be lots more Star Wars fun coming in the future. We’ll definitely keep you updated as soon as we spot this new little friend in the parks and if we hear any more updates. As always, may the Force be with you.

Stephen McKee says
I think the droid should have been “Chopper” from the Rebels animated series.
