Walt Disney World reopened with new health and safety guidelines to promote physical distancing in the theme parks.
The attractions were modified with distanced seating or received plexiglass barriers between rows. Crowds were considerably lower in the first few months of reopening. As the holidays draw near, crowds are beginning to increase and Disney is adjusting some attraction seating to increase ride capacity.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has notoriously long wait times at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s the newest attraction at Disney World and located in a very popular park. Upon reopening, the ride was seating one travel group per train car. Now, plexiglass barriers have been installed on every ride vehicle, creating a barrier between rows.
The entire train car is now being filled to capacity and no rows are skipped. Guests will not be sat next to separate travel groups, but they may be seated in front of or behind other groups.
The increased capacity cut down on our wait time considerably today. The posted wait time was 55 minutes and we arrived at our train car in 35 minutes.
Okay, we’ll ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway since it’s his birthday! BTW – wait time said 55 minutes and we waited 35! pic.twitter.com/IyWgUtnP6S

Oh wonderful. Now the people in the back seat have to look at the show through asmudged and scratched plexiglass window.
Moral of this story? Demand to sit in the front.
I sat in the back on RotR with their new Plexiglass barriers. IT SUCKED!
I could see half of the show because of the glare through the plexiglass and all the scratches and smudges.
Blah! Horrible idea.

We rode it in September for the first time. We loved the ride, but the wait was the longest we experienced in our whole trip. Posted 105 and we waited 67. See our video to check out what the line and ride were like then without plexiglass.
I hope the plexiglass doesn’t cause too much glare, but I think they needed to do something to reduce the wait time until Fast Passes go back up.
