Park hopping looks a bit different than it did a few years ago.
And for those who haven’t visited the parks in quite some time, the system is a little confusing. We know you may have questions, so we’re here to answer them all!
When can guests park hop at Disney World?
Guests with valid park hopper tickets or Annual Passes to Disney World can park hop 2PM each day.
Will I still need a park pass reservation if I intend to park hop?
Yes! All guests must have a park pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit that day. You must enter that park before you’ll be allowed to hop to another though. However, no park pass reservation is needed for the second park (although this is subject to change). Guests should note that each park is still subject to limited capacity, including the park they choose to hop to.
Do I need a Park Pass for the park I plan to hop to?
Nope! As we mentioned above, as of this time, you only need the Park Pass for the park you plan to START your day in. You must scan into that park though before you’ll be able to hop to another at 2PM. No indication that guests will need to reserve their additional parks in any way has been suggested by Disney, but they did make clear that this is subject to change.
Will park-to-park transportation be available for park hopping?
Yes! Park to park transportation is available close to the 2PM time slot.
Can I visit more than 2 parks in a day?
Yes! You can hop to as many parks as you’d like. You just can’t start hopping until 2PM. And of course, you need a park hopper ticket.
Will I be able to attend a dining reservation in a park that I hop to that has already reached capacity?
The parks rarely hit capacity during park hopping time. But if you find yourself in this situation, just speak to a Cast Member. They should be able to assist you to make sure you can make your dining reservation.

Ashley W says
I’m curious- If we want to hop to a 2nd park for the day to eat dinner, will we be able to make a dining reservation at that 2nd park since the system won’t show we have a park reservation there for that day?
DFB Sarah says
Ashley, I don’t think we know that answer yet. Let me see if the team can find out.
DFB Sarah says
Ashley, since the ADR system doesn’t care if you have a DPP, you can make the ADRs wherever you want. The issue we’re wondering about (and reaching out to Disney to find out) is what happens if you have an ADR in a Park that ends up not having Park Hopper availability. We will update when we find out!
rachel says
since it says you can hop subject to availability, is there a way to check to see if the park has availability or is close to its capacity before heading over there?
DFB Sarah says
Rachel, the only way we know of as of yet is going to be through My Disney Experience. Disney didn’t release more info on how it will specifically work, and we weren’t able to get any additional info when we reached out to Cast Members. We will keep checking and updating!
Kate Harris says
What if we leave the first park to go to another. Will we be let back into the first park if it’s at capacity?
ROBERT BURKE says
Over the many years, going to WDW has been great fun … because one could plan their vacation well in advance of their trip. But, the planning process has been taken away by Disney. Many venues that one goes to WDW to experience have either been cancelled, restricted, completely changed or are under construction. The end result is that one can go to WDW and spend most of their day standing in lines and never experience the things they wanted to see and do on their WDW vacation. And as park capacity increases, the lines will get much, much longer. The introduction of the “Limited Park Hopper” program in 2021 is nothing more than a way to further disburse park guests as park capacity is increased. Going to WDW is not inexpensive, and with a very limited ability to plan ahead, many park guests could still spend 50% or more of their day standing in lines … this is no way to experience Disney.
Jennifer P says
This is better news, but still not the greatest news. But I’ll take at least the value of hopping and if we can hop twice that is a bit better also, considering AP costs and it not including the hopping currently.
DFB Sarah says
Kate, if you have not tapped into a second Park, we expect you should be able to return to your original Park (the one for which you have a DPP), just as you can now. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get 100% confirmation from Cast Members when we’ve called, so we still need to get the official word from Disney.
Tina N says
If I have a reservation at one park and hop to a 2nd park, will I be able to hop back to the first one since I will have a reservation there? Thank you.
DFB Sarah says
Tina, what we were told by Cast Members on the phone is that no, you can’t just hop back. Once you scan into a second Park, you are basically forfeiting your spot in the first Park (and allowing someone else to hop there). We have not gotten 100% agreement from the CMs we’ve talked to, though, so we are working to confirm details like this.

Been going to Disney for 17plus years…the park has been enjoyed and loved by many since its inception. The decisions to change themes on rides etc to not “offend” people and capitualte to the left’s agenda is absurd. How many children and people have Disney damaged in the past 50 years? From seeing the wait on lines to get in and the wait on rides…not too many. Disney will lose people over this decision. I, for one, will not be returning nor will my family of 40 plus people. Have a magical day!
