When you’re traveling to Disney World for a magical vacation, it’s easy to get impatient! If you’re like us and you want to get to your happy place as fast as you possibly can, then Disney and Brightline may have come up with a solution.
Disney recently announced that they had reached an agreement with Brightline to build a near-high-speed rail station at Disney Springs! This new mode of transportation was rumored last year, but it has finally been confirmed. This new track will connect Disney Springs to the Orlando International Airport, but will guests actually use it? Our readers are quite the group of travelers, so we decided to ask them “Would you ride the train to Disney World?”
The concept for the train station’s design will include an upper-level train platform with a lower level for a lobby and passenger facilities. This train would provide a car-free connection to Walt Disney World for the millions of visitors each year, and would even connect to other parts of the state! The completed line will have stops in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale on the way to a final destination in Miami, FL.
Brightline also has plans to expand the line towards Tampa, as seen in the map below. The Disney Springs station would be a stop on this pathway.
With a new transportation option from the Orlando airport and many of Florida’s major cities, we decided to ask our readers whether or not they would want to take advantage of this service. Over 10,000 people responded to our poll, and the results were heavily in favor of the station, with 88% of respondents saying they would likely want to use the new train!
Disney currently offers Disney’s Magical Express for resort guests traveling from MCO, but this could be an additional option for those who would like a more luxury experience. The trains are reported to have a variety of amenities, including complimentary wifi, hand-stitched leather seats, multiple outlets in each seat, and food and beverage options. Brightline’s website also shares that their trains are pet-friendly.
As we get more information on this new mode of transportation, we’ll make sure to share the news! This could be a really exciting update for Disney World, as it will help guests travel to the parks even easier and more comfortably. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest in Disney news as we prepare for the many upcoming changes!

Tom Gromling says
The train would be nice, but I assume you would have to pay for each person instead of using the “free” Magical Express buses. Then how do you get from the station near Disney Springs to your resort?
Jennifer says
When we first started to go to Disney as children back in 1981, we did it from our second home in Fort Lauderdale. My parents would take us to Fort Lauderdale for 2 weeks, we’d drive up to Disney for 2 nights and back down to Ft Lauderdale.
So a train, would be great.
Kirsty Hayden says
My question about the train is… a) how do we then get to our Disney hotels? B) can we take the train to or from Disney Springs and have our luggage go direct to or from the airport?
If tjose two questions can be answered, then the train could be a good option.
DFB Sarah says
Kirsty, we’ll have to wait for more info to be released.

Armchair imagineer here…What if they moved the Magical Express station out of the airport and to the Springs as well? Get everyone out of there as fast as possible, then a bunch of short, direct, bus routes. Luggage could flow again the same way, and they save on rent and fuel.
Hank says
This is just makes my day less magical . Let’s see I lug my luggage from airport to train station, lug my luggage from Disney springs to a bus to get to my hotel and lug my luggage to my room. Who’s bright idea was it to get rid of the magical express. With fast pass gone, park hopper modified and now a park reservation required, it might be time to sell my not so magical DVC.
Nora says
Magical Express was my main reason for spending the extra money to stay on Disney property. I will find another place to stay, as many of the other hotels in the area do provide shuttle service from the airport and to the parks, and for a
lot less money.I enjoy staying on property, but not if it means I have to struggle with my luggage and pay for a car service to get us to our resort and to the parks each time .
