Many of the guests who visit Disney World travel through Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Some airports have already begun offering COVID-19 testing on-site. And soon, Orlando International Airport will join the list of locations offering tests for passengers.
WESH Orlando reports that Orlando International Airport will soon begin offering rapid COVID-19 testing to give passengers the opportunity to take a test before boarding their flight.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Board approved a plan during its monthly meeting today that will offer access to a testing clinic at the airport in partnership with AdventHealth Centra Care.
The testing site is being set up before security on the airport’s third level, at the West End of the Main Terminal. Testing will be available to both passengers and airport employees.
The CEO of Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Phil Brown, released the following statement, “We have partnered with one of the largest health care providers in Central Florida in order to ensure a safe operating environment at the Aviation Authority facilities. As travel increases, with certain destinations requiring COVID-19 testing prior to arrival, having an on-site clinic will enable us to better serve our customers and the community”
Airport officials said the site will open later this month, and operations are currently scheduled to continue through July 2021. We will continue to keep an eye out for any further details on the testing site.
