Guests at Disney’s Riviera Resort were required to evacuate the building earlier this evening.
Even though Disney World is the most magical place on Earth, things can still occasionally go awry. Sometimes guests may need to evacuate a ride, restaurant, or building for their own safety.
And that’s just what happened this evening at Disney’s Riviera Resort! Instagram user nathanandcoletta shared their experience, reporting that the fire alarm went off around 5:45PM this evening and the building was evacuated.
Shortly after the evacuation, guests and Cast Members were given the all-clear to head back into the resort.
We haven’t heard word on what caused the fire alarms to go off, but we’re glad to hear that the situation has been addressed and guests are once again able to safely access the building!
Update: Another one of our readers let us know that they were dining at Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera that same evening and were not evacuated. It’s possible the evacuation only affected part of the resort or occurred at a separate time.

You may want to revise this. We were dining at topolino terrace and were not evacuated. So the whole building was not evacuated it was a false alarm in the kitchen. Not sure who actually evacuated.

We are on the ninth floor and were not evacuated. My husband went to the store on the second floor and it was closed temporarily because floors 1-3 were evacuated.
