The situation with the global pandemic is constantly developing. We’ve seen that COVID-19 testing kits can now be purchased online, and rules have recently changed out at Disneyland due to the stay-at-home order that is currently in place for Southern California.
Earlier today we also saw that Florida has received its first set of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines and even administered the first vaccine to a nurse during this morning’s press conference. But, Florida isn’t alone in terms of receiving doses of the coronavirus vaccine. Late last night, California also received its first shipment of the vaccine.
According to the LAX Airport Twitter Account, the first set of COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Los Angeles, California at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) late last night. The LAX account thanked all those who made the delivery possible and noted that it is a “major milestone for science, our country and our community.”
Currently, due to rising COVID-19 numbers, California’s Governor has enacted a new measure that places regions in the state under a stay-at-home order if their ICU capacity falls below a certain level. Southern California, the region where Disneyland is located, has already fallen into this stay-at-home order, and the stay-at-home order will be effective there for at least 3 weeks from the date it was put in place. Due to the order, eating and drinking at Disneyland Resort is prohibited, several restaurants have closed, and food can only be taken to-go from the restaurants that are open.
The state’s COVID-19 website also shows that Orange County (where Disneyland is located) is in the Purple Tier and under that stay-at-home order.
We’re keeping an eye out for more information regarding COVID-19 as it may impact your future trip to a Disney theme park, and will let you know if we see any key new updates.
