Although firework shows are currently suspended at Disney World, we’ve seen fireworks and flares return in a modified and small way in the holiday projections in Magic Kingdom!
We’ve also seen a new fireworks barge for Harmonious brought out in EPCOT, and some firework testing done about a month ago. Now, Disney has announced that MORE firework testing will be soon taking place!
Earlier today, Disney shared that they will be conducting some routine fireworks testing around different areas of Magic Kingdom Park on Wednesday, December 16th, from 10:30PM to 11:30PM. Disney also noted that they will do their best to keep noise at a minimum and apologized for the late-night inconvenience.
Magic Kingdom is set to close at 8PM on December 16th, but guests staying at resorts near Magic Kingdom with a potential view of these firework tests could get the chance to see them light up the sky!
We got to see a bit of the fireworks testing last month from outside Magic Kingdom, and while the fireworks themselves were sparse with several minutes between them, they were still absolutely beautiful.
So, if you’ll be staying at a Disney World resort with a potential view of the fireworks, you may want to look out your window or balcony tomorrow night, turn on the soundtrack to Happily Ever After, grab some Disney snacks, and pretend to have your very own mini fireworks show.
Disney’s post about the fireworks testing notes that fireworks performances are still suspended at Disney World. We’re not sure when fireworks and other nighttime spectaculars will return to Disney World, but we’re on the lookout for any updates. Stay tuned for all the latest news!
