The Keister Coaster (with arguably one of the CREEPIEST clown decorations) at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is currently under construction and its refurbishment schedule actually got extended to the end of the year.
A Cast Member had told us that the slide’s signature clown had officially left the building and wouldn’t be back, but we hadn’t heard any updates in terms of what would be replacing our scary friend. BUT today we finally got an update and now we know what (and who) will be featured in the Keister Coaster’s new design!
Today, Imagineer Zach Riddley posted a photo on his Instagram (@thezachriddley) showing us the BRAND-NEW design that will be coming at the end of the Keister Coaster in Disney’s BoardWalk featuring…MICKEY MOUSE and his pals! We do see some scary knees and feet poking out from the left side though, and we’re not sure if a rather extreme facial expression from Goofy will follow them, so the nightmares may not be over yet!
One strange thing we noticed is that, in the photo itself, in the red design of the slide next to Mickey, the name of the slide is spelled “Kiester Coaster” when it has typically been spelled “Keister Coaster” (and is actually spelled that way in Riddley’s post and Disney’s website right now). Update: Zach Riddley’s post with this sneak peek has since been removed from his Instagram. We’re unsure if this was due to the misspelling or something else, but we’ll be on the lookout for more updates!
Update: Riddley later posted a cropped photo of the slide on his Instagram stories…
…with a post saying that they were feeling a little “Goofy” about the typo. Riddley also said that they’re still putting the finishing touches on the slide and would make changes before opening it up to guests.
UPDATE: On the morning of December 17th, 2020, Riddley shared an updated post on his Instagram. He shared more sneak peek photos, this time with a corrected graphic!
He even laughed at their mistake, saying “that’s kEIster! We triple-checked!” We definitely understand the mistake, i’s and e’s in the English language can be pretty confusing. But thanks to the mess-up, we actually got to see some extra photos. In this one, we can see that Goofy and Minnie are joining Mickey in the splashy fun!
This graphic of Daisy lounging in her sunnies is a total MOOD. These bonus photos are just really getting us more excited to see this new slide design unveiled!
Riddley shared that the Disney World and Imagineering teams are almost done with the design. The photo shows the teams installing the graphic, and he said that it’s now Mickey and his friends who are “clowning” around as they splash down into the pool!
Will the resort’s signature clown get a small shout-out in this graphic? What other friends will be featured? We’re not sure, but we can’t wait to see the full design once it’s finished!
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more updates about this slide and bring you all the latest.

Boardwalk Villas is our first home resort. Always liked the clown. I know I’ve heard all the comments. But LOVE having Mickey on our slide.

I wish there was no graphic at all. I was hopeful when I heard the creepy clown was going! I totally get the amusement theme etc. but this is my “home” resort and I’ve never been to the pool because it’s the least relaxing pool on property! I think it could be done a little classier.
