From Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure to the Spaceship Earth renovation, LOTS of projects at Disney World have been delayed this year, likely due in large part to the global pandemic and park closures.
Some of the projects that have also been delayed are Beatrix and the M&M’s Store, both of which are set to come to Disney Springs. But, construction has continued on other projects around Disney World. So, how is Disney Springs looking now? Today we got a peek from the sky!
Bioreconstruct shared the following aerial image on their Twitter (@bioreconstruct) of Disney Springs. The top right arrow points to where Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew is being constructed. The bottom right arrow is the location of the M&M’s Store. On the left, the arrow on the top was where Ample Hills was meant to be, and the yellow arrow in the bottom left points to the area where Beatrix was being constructed.
We’ve seen quite a lot of construction going on lately at Everglazed and are looking forward to that spot opening soon.
In terms of the M&M Store, its grand opening has been delayed until 2021, but we’ve also seen construction moving along there recently.
Ample Hills unfortunately will no longer be operating in Disney World, and its “coming soon” sign that used to be in Disney Springs was removed earlier this year.
But, what really interested us in this photo was Beatrix. Based on the photo from Bioreconstruct, the area where Beatrix is meant to be (bottom left arrow) is currently a whole lot of…well, nothing (at least in terms of its visual appearance from this view). Here’s a peek at that photo again.
When Beatrix was announced back in 2019, we saw construction walls go up and the Bongos building come down, but construction (at least in terms of anything we could see) seemed to be moving very slowly. Later, construction was paused, and based on this aerial photo, it looks like not much as been done since (at least from what we can see).
Beatrix was set to be a “neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse, and grab-and-go market featuring healthy food options including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan along with fresh-squeezed juice cocktails.” It was also supposed to include an in-house bakery, and an American beer and wine selection.
The Beatrix website still notes that the restaurant plans to open its Disney Springs location, and the Disney Springs website still lists this spot as “Coming Soon!”
With construction progressing at the future locations of Gideon’s Bakehouse and Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew in Disney Springs, as well as other spots, we’re certainly hoping to see or hear an update about Beatrix soon. We’ll keep our eyes out for more updates and let you know what we find.

Nothing there for me. Downtown Disney and the West Side used to be a fun place to go, even after Pleasure Island was gone, the Magnet Store, Starbelia’s, and a lot of other fun shops were a draw for my family. Now it it full of expensive clothing stores and restaurants, not so much fun any more.
