EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays is underway, and we’ve had some delicious eats this year!
One of the Holiday Kitchens that we really enjoyed this year is Holiday Hearth, set up inside the World Showplace. This booth is home to a variety of festive desserts, including one that we enjoyed more than we expected to — the Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie (which you can get the recipe for here). Now, the Spaceship Earth Cookie has received a holiday makeover and we don’t really know how to feel about it… .
We stopped by to pick up one of these made-over cookies, and our first thought is…WHAT?
Many of our team had similar thoughts, with comments like “What color is that…flesh?” and “I don’t understand what the peppermint is supposed to be.”Â
Also, why does it have socks? Is it supposed to be walking? All of these are questions that we don’t really have the answers to!
We get that it’s supposed to be festive, and part of us thinks this is kinda cute?! But what about adding some lights or a wreath? You know, normal Christmas decorations. For reference, here’s what the cookie looked like originally:
Besides the bizarre decorations, the cookie is still pretty much the same! It’s still $5.25 and it still has the delicious salted caramel filling inside.Â
Our final warning is to watch how you handle this thing. We wrapped two of them up in a napkin to carry them gently to a table and BAM, they completely fell apart. This cookie is really a metaphor for 2020!
We still recommend this one as a snack, we just don’t know how to feel about the new decorations. Whatever you’re going through, Spaceship Earth Cookie, we’re here for you.
Stay tuned to DFB as we continue to bring you all the latest snack news from Disney World! We’re so grateful for our readers who make it possible to do what we do!
