In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, breaking news and updates emerge on a daily — and seemingly hourly — basis. It can be overwhelming to keep up with, especially in particularly hard-hit states like California.

Recently, Disneyland’s home state has seen dramatic changes, both for the better and for the worse. Now the latest report is that California’s statewide ICU capacity has fallen to 0%.
As this latest wave of the pandemic has swept across the entire country (and the world), certain populous states have been hit especially hard…California among them.

In addition to Disneyland and other theme parks remaining closed, restrictions and mandates across the state have increasingly tightened in order to reduce the rate of infections and ease ICU capacity in hospitals.

However, in spite of recent optimistic changes in the right direction, California’s statewide available ICU capacity fell to 0% on Christmas.

Disneyland
As alarming as that sounds, Governor Gavin Newsom reassured that there are still options, including a 20% “surge capacity” that brings in aid from federal workers and more ICU nurses.

Not really sure how much I trust the numbers. On one hand I hear we have had record low numbers of cold and flu cases because of wearing a mask and social distancing. Then I hear people say we have so many Covid cases because people not wearing masks or social distancing. In my wife’s family tragedy struck on Christmas Day. My wife’s cousins (twins) that were 61 and lived in the same house in Wyoming, died in the middle of the night from carbon monoxide poisoning. The coroner ruled that it was Covid because they were diagnosed with it before hand. DC has admitted they put Covid on cases that are clearly not. I just want all this to be over with soon.
I dont understand why case numbers in CA are continuing to rise. I mean they been in lock down mode for 10 months and they supposed to squash this bug out of existence.
I guess they better do MORE lock downs since that worked so well the 1st 2nd and 3rd time. Big face palm here.
I live in California. Our statewide ICU capacity is not at 0 percent. Only the Southern Calif and San Joaquin areas are at 0 percent. The Sacramento area is at about 18 percent and northern California area is over 20 availability.
