Did you hear the news? EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts has officially started! We’re making our way around World Showcase to visit all the new and returning Food Studios!
We headed to the Refreshment Outpost to see what’s cooking! At last year’s Festival of the Arts, we dove headfirst into Paintbrush Churros and Popcorn Flights. Some of the items have returned while others are new. Let’s see what the Outpost has to offer in 2021!
The menu offers the return of the Plant-Based Bratwurst from the 2020 festival. They also kept the Warm Brown Sugar Stuffed Pretzel that we LOVED from Festival of the Holidays. We don’t care that this one is a repeat snack because my goodness it was good! You can see what else is on the menu below!
And yes…you guessed it…the Spike the Bee Sipper is BACK, BABYYY! Spike’s debut at the 2020 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival was, of course, cut short due to the park closures, and since reopening he has certainly made sure he makes up for all that lost time.
Like last year’s festivals, you can purchase this sipper for $15 with your choice of beverage.
Let’s check out what else Refreshment Outpost has in store at this year’s Festival of the Arts!
Food
Refreshment Outpost is going to be your go-to for returning food items. Unfortunately our beloved Paintbrush Churros did NOT return for 2021 (cue our tears). But in its place are two returning food items. First is the Plant-based Bratwurst for $9.50. This vegan dish comes with with spicy turmeric aïoli, coffee barbecue jackfruit, and slaw.
This is a great plant-based option with a nice kick to it! Of all the plant-based “meat” dishes we’ve tried at Disney World, it ranks pretty high (right up there with the Vegan Slaw Dog from Casey’s Corner!).
Next is the Warm Brown Sugar-stuffed Pretzel! We recently enjoyed this dessert at the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, but this time it’s slightly different!
While this dish isn’t that unique, it’s definitely delicious! It’s Soft-serve Ice Cream on top of a Brown Sugar-stuffed Pretzel.
During the Festival of the Holidays, the ice cream flavor was chocolate, but they’ve changed things up a bit with Banana Soft-serve as the topper this go-’round!
The warm and cold-combo sensation of the ice cream and pretzel, on TOP of all the sugary sweetness, makes for one decadent dessert. Try it for $8.25!
Beverages
NEW for 2021 is the Playalinda Brewing Co. Blue Raspberry Blonde. That’s right friends, we drank blue beer.
This unique drink costs $9.75. You’re going to have to trust us on this one; the blue is MUCH more apparent in person!
And you know what? It was delicious! We think this is a great choice for people who want to try a beer at the Festival but aren’t typical beer drinkers or prefer cocktail-style beers. We loved that it wasn’t too tart or too sweet! Don’t let the color scare you away!
If beer isn’t your jam regardless of what color it is, there’s always the Frozen Slushy Coca-Cola or Minute Maid Lemonade in your trusty Spike the Bee Sipper Cup for $15.
We’re stuffed with STUFFED pretzels, but we’ve still got more reviews to do! Don’t touch that dial! We’ll be reviewing more Food Studios and noting all the important news surrounding the Festival of the Arts this year!
