Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here to share what’s new at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
And, we’ve got plenty of entertainment, food, and crowd updates to share with you! Let’s dive right on in!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios General Updates
Holiday Decorations
Although we’re a week into the new year, Disney’s Hollywood Studios still has plenty of Christmas decorations up around the park. At the entrance to the park, ornaments, bows, and mini trees decorate the lamp posts.
Plus, garlands can still be seen hanging across Hollywood Boulevard.
And those classic Christmas stars are still making Sunset Boulevard more festive!
You can still spot that big ol’ Christmas Tree over at Echo Lake. But, the ornaments in the lake have since disappeared, and a scaffolding bridge has been put in place going towards the tree.
PhotoPass Cast Member Changes
Back on Sunset Boulevard, we noticed that some PhotoPass Cast Members had switched out their traditional costumes for casual, grey North Face pullovers and dark wash jeans. They are currently just testing the costumes in Hollywood Studios with only about five Cast Members.
Cast members were also testing out new PDAs that will be able to scan guests’ passes by touching them to the guest’s phone, rather than needing to scan the My Disney Experience app screen itself. At this time, they’ll be testing these new things out for a few more weeks in Disney’s Hollywood Studios before they make their debut in the other parks!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Food Update
Oga’s Cantina
We tried to get on the Walk-Up List for Oga’s Cantina as soon as the park opened However, the Cast Member notified us that it was full and recommended checking the app throughout the day in case there were any cancellations. As we checked for time slots throughout the day, nothing opened up.
So, if you plan to head to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’re going to want to try and score an Oga’s reservation ahead of time if it’s one of your must-do experiences!
Check out one of the specialty drinks you can score at Oga’s Cantina!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Crowd Update
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has picked up speed as more guests head to the park to visit Toy Story Land, Rise of the Resistance, and their other favorite spots.
There were certain areas of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that had pockets of crowds…
…while others were a bit more dispersed as guests distanced themselves from one another.
Popular attractions had longer waits, like Slinky Dog Dash, which had a 60-minute wait only 20 minutes after Disney’s Hollywood Studios opened to guests!
Well, that’s everything new we spotted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We’ll catch you next time for more crowds, food, and entertainment updates, so be sure to check back with us!
You can now buy droids from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge online!
