Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Magic Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
Main Street, U.S.A.
We love to look at the balloons every time we visit the parks. And, now we can’t help but stare even longer since there are new colors being featured in the Magic Kingdom! Orange Mickey Balloons usually pop up during the Fall and Halloween time, but now they’re making their way into Disney World as a year-round option for the start of 2021…
…along with the Golden Yellow Mickey Balloon that will replace the previously lighter colored Sunshine Yellow Mickey Balloon.
After we talked to the sweet Cast Member holding the balloons, we found out that they are available every day and not just for special occasions (even though they’re a perfect way to celebrate your special day)!
Here’s everything you need to know about the Orange and Golden Yellow Mickey Balloons!
Uptown Jewelers
Now that WandaVision is premiering this week, we’ve been HYPED for all the Marvel content coming soon to Disney+! If you’re ready to ring in the new year with some “super” merchandise too, though, you can head over to Uptown Jewelers to grab the latest Marvel Canvas Loungefly Backpack!
The red Marvel logo pops on the black background of the canvas backpack with carrying handles so you can take it with you on your adventures for $75.
Frontier Trading
We might be in the age of cell phones, but Disney is throwing things back to more nostalgic times with a series of Switchboard Character Pins at Frontier Trading!
All of your favorite pals are one a multi-way call (probably chatting about their favorite Disney snacks) with the Mickey Switchboard Pin…
…Buzz Lightyear Switchboard Pin…
…Jumba Switchboard Pin…
…and the Roger Switchboard Pin from 101 Dalmatians for $19.99 each!
Magic Kingdom Construction Update
Since the Rivers of America has been drained completely for routine maintenance, Cast Members have been working on the surrounding Tom Sawyer Island area. Recently, we noticed that the Harper’s Mill Sign was missing from one of the building (and still is at the moment).
There are also a few more tents, tarps, and trucks in the Rivers of America to push forward with the construction progress!
We will continue to monitor the progress and will let you know if anything changes.
Magic Kingdom Crowd Update
Now that the holiday season has ended and we’re in Disney World’s quieter season, the crowds have been looking a little less busy than they were during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
Although people are wrapping up their breaks and vacation with a few lingering crowds, they have slowly started to disperse from the peak time of the year.
There are a few pockets of crowds throughout the park at busier times of the days…
…with varying wait times at spots like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with 45 minutes…
…and Splash Mountain with 60 minutes.
Along with the attractions, quick-service spots like the Joffrey’s Coffee in Tomorrowland had some of the longest queues in the parks too (and we can’t blame everyone for needing their coffee!).
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Magic Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have questions about how your upcoming Disney vacation, let us know so we can help you find the answers.
