Wow! It’s wild to think about but Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is THIS YEAR.
In preparation for the big occasion, Disney has given Cinderella Castle a new look and is working on new attractions and restaurants for the parks. Another area that’s getting some TLC is the Walt Disney World entrance signs around the resort! Today, work on another one of the entrances got underway.
We were headed into Disney World this morning on Osceola Parkway when we noticed the entrance sign here has started to see some changes! We’ve seen the completed look on a few of the other signs and it does look pretty spiffy.
Workers were out in reflective vests and the far right lane of traffic was coned off.
As we got closer, we could see that the blue is currently being removed from the sign off to the right side. For the other repaintings, we’ve noticed that the signs are turned a greyish white color before receiving a fresh coat of paint.
We also spotted that the Minnie Mouse figure has been covered in plastic! This is to protect her while the background behind her is painted a new royal blue and golden yellow.
We’ll keep checking back in with the Osceola Parkway Entrance sign to see how it comes along. It sure will be nice to have one more fresh, refurbished entrance!
