Today is officially the United States Presidential Inauguration Day, which means a long-standing tradition is taking place in Magic Kingdom.
The Hall of Presidents is a unique and historic attraction located in Liberty Square. It features every single U.S. president in audio-animatronic form. So, it traditionally closes for refurbishment each time a new president is elected.
Today, the Hall of Presidents is officially closed in Disney World. The closure will give Disney time to add an animatronic of President Joe Biden to the attraction.
The attraction features a speech from George Washington and the current sitting president. Part of the refurbishment will shift the second speech from President Donald Trump to President Biden.
In the past, the attraction has sometimes been closed for just a few months and sometimes closer to a year, so we’re not sure how long exactly the refurbishment will last.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates about this historic attraction so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

Glad I saw Hall of Presidents in November. Doubt I will again.

Your article is not completely accurate.
You say, “Sometimes closes for a few months. Something a year.”
It only had an extended closure for Trump because disney hated Trump and didn’t want to add his figure to the attraction. And were waiting for the blow back of his election to die down.
I feel like i live in the twilight zone.

Brandon, this piqued my interest, so here are a couple of fun Hall of Presidents refurbishment facts. The attraction didn’t feature George W. Bush in 2001 until October of that year; apparently when Bill Clinton was added in 1993, he was the first to have a new, longer speaking role, and so Disney had to make not just the new animatronic but also a new recording. I don’t see why it ended up being so late into Bush’s first year in office. Also interesting: the attraction was closed for about nine months (November ’08 through July ’09) when President Obama was added in 2009. I couldn’t find facts for previous POTUS (maybe because they were pre-internet?), but I hope these factoids are of interest!

Brandon, also the imagineers were convinced that Hillary was going to win that they had already built her animatronic, and then Trump won. So they took the Hillary animatronic and had to change the hair, clothes, etc. to make it into Trump. I always thought that was funny and interesting. I also heard it took longer for Trump’s because he took forever to do the recording for his speech. Those are interesting facts about the other transitions too. I haven’t been to Hall of Presidents since I saw Obama as POTUS, so I’m really looking forward to going back and seeing Biden’s.
