Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for some awesome rides like Expedition Everest or Dinosaur.
But many guests often overlook the animal trails at the park! Animal Kingdom has several trails that give you a closer look at many animals, and one of these trails in currently under construction.
The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is located near Kilimanjaro Safaris. A Cast Member told us that they are performing routine maintenance on the boardwalk section of the aviary. When you go up to the trail now, there is a queue to get in. There are signs with arrows showing guests where to line up.
Since some of the trail is blocked off, less guests can go in at a time. A Cast Member will let you know when it’s your turn to enter the trail.
In the gorilla viewing area, there are 4 green dots for parties to stand on. Every minute or so, a Cast Member will tell parties to take a step to their right onto the next green dot. This is the same process as before the construction, so nothing has changed in the viewing areas that are open!
Here, you can say hi to the baby gorilla named Grace!
Overall, not much has changed at the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. The biggest difference is that there is a queue to get in when guests can usually go right in. Also, part of the trail is blocked off, but you can still get amazing views!
It is unclear when the construction will be over, but we will keep you updated as we learn more information. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney World updates!

There is no hole in the aviary. There is a boardwalk portion of the walkway in the aviary that is being replaced.

The gorilla viewing has always been one of our favorite spots. To save our feet, we always went in the exit so we could view them without the long walk. No more I guess!
