The last spell was cast yesterday at the Magic Kingdom as part of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom experience.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom opened in 2012 and brought guests on a magic card game that allowed guests to interact with all kinds of special elements in the park. 9 years later, January 24th, 2021 marked the end of the Magic Kingdom game.
Initially when we asked about the closure, Cast Members were under the impression that this would be a temporary closure. Today, we were told that this is now expected to be a permanent closure.
Therefore, it looks like Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is gone for good.
We are sad (and we know many of our readers are as well) to see this interactive game go and we are curious to see if a new game or experience will replace it. We will be keeping an eye out for any updates on whether a new experience will be coming to Magic Kingdom in the future!

Disney is on a path of destruction. Too much PC, Stopping programs that had people willing to spend a little extra to visit the over priced Parks and stay at the over priced Hotels like the magical express. No more airline checkin and help at the Resort Hotels, Magic bands gone.
The 2021 50th attractions are all behind or will will not be finished before the celibrations.
No fast pass for new rides. (I visited the Parks last Febuary and over 5 days could not get a Boarding Pass to Rise of the Resistence (not to mention how many times the ride was down for Techl reasons.
No fireworks, No live shows, No dining plans, No meet and greet. No parades.
Will someone please tell me why I should spend almost $1000.00 a day coming from Seattle to visit WDW.
Who is in chare of making tehse decisions ?, Someone needs to be fired.

My husband is not big into rides due to physical limitations (he has a bad shoulder and back), so he always played Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom as a way to entertain himself while I went on rides. He loved it. It was a way for him to enjoy the magic without aggravating his condition. Now that it’s gone, it’s very upsetting for him because it’s just one more thing to add to the list of things he can’t do at the parks and now he’s going to feel like he’s missing out.

Sarah, I know it’s not the same, but perhaps Play Disney Parks (the app) could be fun for him?

I just had to tell my 7 year old this was gone for our next visit and spent 45 min consoling her.
I hope the replace it with something, we found it a great distraction when the kids were tired or rides ( or t least the lines), we could do a little Sorcerers and wonder around.

I just found out about this! I am so disappointed! Is there an email or contact we can complain to? This game was so fun and I would be willing to pay for it. I know lots of restrictions are in place because of covid, but they don’t need to permanently get rid of all of the things that make Disney World so special.
