It’s been a while since guests have been able to experience a Disney Cruise as Disney continues to cancel sailings.
But in the meantime, the global pandemic continues to not only delay the return of cruises, but it’s changing the way we’ll cruise when they do return. In its latest update, the CDC announced that face masks will be required on all cruise ships.
Lately though, Disney — and other cruise ships — has continued to cancel its sailings and restrict the length of its voyages.
The latest order from the CDC, which goes into effect February 1st, requires people to wear face masks while on public transportation in the U.S., and while at transportation hubs.
In CDC terms, the first section of the order says “Persons must wear masks over the mouth and nose when traveling on conveyances into and within the United States. Persons must also wear masks at transportation hubs as defined in this Order.” This includes a wide array of transportation, like busses, trains, vessels, and other conveyances used for travel.
We’ll keep an eye out for more information about Disney Cruise Line and orders from the CDC.

First of all, the CDC can only make “recommendations”. They can’t issue ORDERS or pass LAWS….they’re only recommendations. Secondly, this is beyond ridiculous at this point. Either the masks work or they don’t, and the fact that the government is changing it’s narrative a year into this thing means they don’t know, they’re just looking for some level of control. This is stupid. Enjoy your “vacation” with your mask.

Guess I’m canceling my December cruise! No way am I paying close to $6k to have to wear a mask. Also, since when did the CDC become a legislative body to require anything of anyone? Recommend sure, require uh no.

Just found out last week that DCL is canceling all Disney MAGIC cruises through early May 2021, which includes our cruise on the MAGIC booked for 5/6/21. This was disappointing because we already moved this cruise three times now due to DCL canceling. They said we could rebook through May 2022 and keep our onboard booking benefits and credits. We haven’t decided if we want to do that yet or just cancel and get a refund : (

The article stated while in America. I hope Disney has enough common sense not to require the masks once they are in International waters. Of course if they are going to another country they will follow that country’s guidelines.

Why doesn’t the CDC just torpedo and sink all the cruise ships and be done with it?!!! Between these regulations and people losing their business and jobs due to their regulations there won’t be anyone who will be able to afford a cruise anyway 😔
