It’s another exciting week for construction projects in Disney World as yet ANOTHER project is completed!
We’re taking a look at the many ongoing projects in Disney World right now, AND sharing a firsthand look inside the newly opened M&M’s Store in Disney Springs!
Magic Kingdom
Rivers of America
We’ve been sharing glimpses of Rivers of America all throughout the refurbishment of Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat. The river was drained back in October and remained totally dry as work continued on the track that the riverboat follows. Recently, the river started getting refilled! And it seems that the saga is coming to a close as the river looks totally filled!
Even though things are looking pretty status quo around here once again, refurbishments on Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are still expected to continue through February 28th.
A totally empty river isn’t something you see every day, so it was pretty interesting to see. However, we’re looking forward to seeing the Liberty Square Riverboat gliding around the river again soon!
Here’s EVERYTHING that’s closed for refurb in Disney World this week!
Bonjour Village Gifts
Last week, we noticed that some exterior work was being done at Bonjour Village Gifts in Fantasyland.
This week, construction crews continued to work on the building’s roof and siding.
We’ll continue sharing updates about this little shop as they become available!

EPCOT
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an upcoming indoor coaster that will incorporate storytelling elements while riders go on a journey through the galaxy! This week, we noticed wooden paneling being applied around the outside of the building.
The exterior of this attraction is really shaping up!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Pandora — The World of Avatar
In Pandora, some areas were sectioned off as it appeared that the grounds were preparing for a literal glow-up! The scenery in Pandora is super impressive (have you seen those floating mountains?!) and the bioluminescent glow that appears at night is pretty awe-inspiring.
Well, the grounds of the Valley of Mo’ara have received a new paint job!
This will allow that bright and colorful glow we’re used to seeing throughout the land at night.
You can certainly tell there’s been a touch-up here!
We’ll have to visit Pandora at night soon to see the new paint in its prime!
See more photos of the new paint here!
Disney Springs
M&M’s Store
The M&M’s Store is officially OPEN!! Earlier in the week, more and more M&M’s made their way to the facade of the building.
Then, on Saturday, the M&M’s Store began welcoming guests!
We visited to get a firsthand look at what the new store has to offer, including a whole WALL of M&M’s and Disney-inspired M&M’s merchandise. We even made our own customized M&M’s!
We’re excited to see another option to do our shopping over at Disney Springs! And we’re not complaining about the candy, either.
We’ll be back to visit for updates during our future trips to Disney Springs!

General Construction
Walt Disney World Entrance Sign
Last week, we shared a look at the beginning phases of the reimagined makeover of the Walt Disney World Entrance Sign near Osceola Parkway. This week, the progress continues!
A new, blue coat of paint covers half of the archway. Plus, gold accents have been added to the tops of the pillars!
Stay tuned for more progress on this project!
Here’s what this sign will look like when it’s finished!
It’s always exciting to see projects get completed so we can check out the new experiences they have to offer! And because SO many projects are in the works right now, you can be sure that we’ve got lots to look forward to in the future!
