Disney World turns 50 years old this year!
That’s a pretty momentous occasion and we’ve seen Magic Kingdom undergo some touch-ups in preparation. The BIGGEST is the new paint job on Cinderella Castle, but the castle isn’t the ONLY spot getting some TLC.
Today, Disney filed a permit for the address coded to the Main Street Town Square Theater! That’s the building on the right when you enter the park where you used to be able to meet Mickey Mouse and Tinker Bell.
The permit is filed by Walt Disney Imagineering and calls for crews to “Remove, refurbish, and reinstall existing marquee.” Yep, it sounds like they’re doing some work on the iconic “Town Sqaure Theater” sign!
But don’t worry, we probably won’t see any big changes! Instead, the sign will likely just look a little spiffier and be ready to hang in place for years to come when the work is done! Still, we might see it disappear from the building for a little while.
As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates as Disney gets ready for the 50th Anniversary! We’ll keep you in the loop!
