Ok, we know Disney keeps stuff from us but this is pretty crazy.
Sure, construction barriers are the norm and we only get peeks inside new projects when Disney shows them to us. But did you know that Disney might go as far as to edit pictures from SPACE to hide their new projects?!
One upcoming Disney project that we are super excited about is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This upcoming story coaster is pretty exciting and we actually HAVE gotten a peek inside. But, Disney clearly ONLY wants us to see that image!
Okay, okay, we’ll explain. It’s not like we’ve been trying to peek through the construction barriers — it wouldn’t surprise us if Disney stopped that! But could Disney have censored views into Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind from above? Way. Way. Above?
We were taking a look at EPCOT on Google Maps recently and we noticed that there was a mysterious black box placed in the middle of the Guardians of the Galaxy building.
As we looked closer we realized that there’s a black box blocking the view into the hole in the roof. It’s hard to tell, but it seems like the box was added to the satellite image.
In fact, as you move around, you can actually see inside the building just a little bit once you get around the black barrier.
That looks a lot like roller coaster tracks, don’t you think?
We’re not sure if this is just a trick of the image or light or if Google/Disney ACTUALLY added a redaction block to the top of the building once it was photographed by the satellite. Whatever the case, we can’t wait to see this attraction for ourselves someday.
The Guardians of the Galaxy coaster is set to open in 2021, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news about the attraction — including that opening date!

In the first Google Maps picture, there is a rectangular “arm” that comes off of the old Ellen’s Energy Adventure building. Is that connector and the building to the upper right of it, part of the new GotG ride?
