Though there are plenty of allergy-friendly dining options around Walt Disney World, if you want an easy, classic snack (think: Mickey pretzel), finding one isn’t always quite so simple.
And that’s where Disney’s Snacks With Character come in handy! These pre-packaged snacks were developed for guests who need gluten-free, nut-free, and other allergy-friendly snacks!
And if you’ve grown a lil tired of the same ol’ cookies and bars, THREE new varieties in the Snacks With Character line have arrived at Walt Disney World! We spotted White Cheddar Corn Puffs, Honey Barbecue Popped Potato Chips, and Cinnamon Swirl Mini Rice Crisps at Ink and Paint at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! All of these snacks are nut-free and gluten-free!
And you know we tried them! First, we ripped open the bag of White Cheddar Corn Puffs, though it was kinda hard to do so because the Minnie on the bag is so darn cute in her blue dress!
The puffs themselves are less cute, of course, but looks are less important than taste. How did they taste?! Honestly, a lot like other cheese puffs we’ve had (think Pirate’s Booty), though in the scheme of all cheese puffs, there were on the milder side, flavor-wise. And while a lot of cheese puffs are primarily air, we found these to be quite the substantial snack! These White Cheddar Corn Puffs are $3.49, and all-in-all, these were our FAVORITE of the new Snacks With Character!
Next, we sampled the Honey Barbecue Popped Potato Chips, which feature our favorite hyuck-ster Goofy on the bag!
We’ll be honest, you’re not getting a TON of chips in this bag, it only weighs 1.75 ounces, and like the Corn Puffs, these are sizable, substantial chips. These had a nice little bite of BBQ flavor, but we did wish they had a bit MORE of said flavor. However, they’d be good for kiddos who don’t want to be overwhelmed by spice. Like the Corn Puffs, these chips are $3.49 per bag.
Finally, we grabbed the bag with our pal Mickey Mouse on it, and tried the Cinnamon Swirl Mini Rice Crisps, which are a bit pricier at $5.49 per bag.
These reminded us of your classic puffy cereal with just a hint of cinnamon flavor! We liked them less than the savory snacks, but they’re a FABULOUS option for little ones to snack on throughout the day at the parks.
It’s always nice to see allergy-friendly options at Disney World, and the new additions to the Snacks With Character line of treats are a welcome sight, especially for kiddos who can’t ALWAYS eat everything they see. A special treat with their favorite Disney friend on it?! Now, that’s FUN! And when we spot more new treats around Disney World, we’ll be sure to review them to let you know if they’re right for you and your family!
