With Disney’s Q1 Earnings Call today, we’re receiving lots of updates about the company.
With all of the new shows and movies coming to Disney+, it’s no surprise that it’s growing in popularity. But just how much? Today, we received an update on the streaming service’s subscriber growth.
Let’s recap! In April 2020, Disney+ surpassed 50 million subscribers. During the Investor’s Day conference in December, it was reported that this number had grown to 86.8 million.
According to Disney’s Q1 Earnings Call, as of January 2, 2021 the subscriber count was at 94.9 million. That’s a LOT of people watching WandaVision, The Mandalorian and more! And we expect the number has only grown in the last month.
Disney had previously aimed to reach 60-90 million subscribers by 2024. It looks like they hit that number WAY earlier.
We’ll continue to keep you posted with more updates from the Quarterly Earnings Call. Stay tuned to DFB!
