It’s that time again!
Time to check out all the construction progress in Disney World, that is! This week, we’ve seen walls go up around a classic attraction and continued testing on EPCOT’s upcoming nighttime spectacular. Let’s jump right in!
Magic Kingdom
Peter Pan’s Flight
We noticed some walls up near a classic Fantasyland attraction, Peter Pan’s Flight. The ride remains open, but near the side of the building where the queue can stretch sometimes, these walls are in place.
This weekend, we noticed a major addition in the form of a HUGE, brown tarp-like thing draped over the side of the building.
As you can see, guests still queue up next to the wall. We’ll keep you updated on any other further developments here!
Check out more photos of the walls around this area here!
Bonjour Village Gifts
Here’s a close-up look at Bonjour Village Gift’s fresh coat of green paint.
Not much seems to have changed at this shop since last week. Some hedges still remain around the building!
Here’s how to pack for your Disney vacation next week!
EPCOT
Future World
We’ve been tracking the construction progress at Innoventions in Future World. As more and more parts of the building were removed, it seemed like it couldn’t become any more barren. Well, that’s now false, because the roof has been removed too.
This area of EPCOT is being prepared to welcome new neighborhoods as part of the park’s transformation. In the future, this area will be home to World Celebration Neighborhood!
A booth will be MISSING from EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival!
Harmonious Nighttime Spectacular
Since December, we’ve been sharing updates of the barges that have appeared in World Showcase Lagoon as part of EPCOT’s upcoming fireworks show. And, we’ve seen them being tested in a few different ways. This week, we saw the arm of one of the barges being tested, as it moved in a back and forth motion.
We’ve also spotted testing of the screens on the sides of these barges. During one of our visits this week, the screen was illuminated.
This time around, we didn’t see the illuminated grid that we’ve seen during past trips, which is likely used for projection mapping.

Disney Resorts
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
We’ve seen a demolished monorail station, a splash area closed, and more since the Polynesian Resort announced its refurbishment. This week, we were able to grab some photos of walls in place surrounding the buildings that house guest rooms while on our way to snag a dole whip (naturally).
These walls were surrounding the Rarotonga building.
This resort is getting a makeover to incorporate Moana-themed elements, and this week we saw Cast Members with new costumes channeling the Disney Princess!

Art of Animation Resort
Over at the Art of Animation Resort, the Big Blue Pool is undergoing scheduled maintenance.
When actually filled with water, you’ll feel like you’re swimming right along with Nemo and friends in the Finding Nemo themed section of the resort. When we visited, the pool was entirely drained.
The pool is expected to reopen in April, and we’ll keep you updated on any potential changes!
Everything That’s Closed in Disney World This Week
There weren’t too many changes to check out this week, but rest assured we’ll be back again next week with more details about Disney’s ongoing projects. Be sure to check back with us!

Lots going on for sure. They will be ready if the crowds ever come back… prices during the current administration will surely raise them. Disney is becoming a more elite vacation destination.
