We took a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom yesterday and got to give Disney some of our thoughts!
Every once in a while, we receive a survey from Disney World that asks us about our experience. Sometimes they’re just a few questions and other times, like yesterday, they’re loooong. Take a look at the interesting survey we received after our park visit!
First up, the survey took a look at the guest perceptions of the crowds asking if the park felt too crowded, if crowds were more or less than expected, and the perception of wait times.
As we’ve seen with many recent surveys, Disney asked several questions about the current health measures that are in use in the park. There were some more broad questions that spoke to the health experience overall as well as some similar ones that spoke to the security experience.
Guests were also asked to rate several experiences such as Atmosphere Entertainment, Character Cavalcades, and more. This likely means Disney is gathering data on the current guest satisfaction with the entertainment offerings.
Interestingly enough, the survey even featured a question asking about the potential negative impact from other guests’ behavior. This has sometimes been an issue with the health measures in the parks.
Then, we got a little bit more into the nitty-gritty of the individual impacts. Disney asked about how missing offerings impacted guests’ visits as well as individual examples of the health measures.
Some more general questions about Animal Kingdom were fielded too. One gave several options for guests to rank their top three reasons for visiting Animal Kingdom.
And, of course, some opinions were requested on the Disney Park Pass system. We especially thought this question was interesting: “Was Disney’s Animal Kingdom your first choice for a reservation on February 13th?” As a reminder, park reservations were pretty full that day.
This is a question we’ve seen on MANY park surveys in the past months as Disney continues to gather information on how guests feel about visiting the theme parks.
Perhaps the most surprising question of this survey asked us to rank how BIG of a fan we are of Star Wars and Marvel. Huh…neither of these franchises are even in Animal Kingdom! It’s likely that Disney is just looking to gauge interest from their guests overall.
From there, we were asked about some of the technology and digital resources offered by Disney at this time including things like mobile dine offerings, Disney Photopass, and the My Disney Experience app.
We’ve DEFINITELY run into our fair share of technical difficulties with Disney’s services so we were glad to see that Disney has taken an interest in some of the hiccups.
Overall, this lengthy survey gives us some idea into the market research that Disney is currently conducting. Maybe our opinions (or yours) could help to change the park’s experience for the better! As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest updates!
