We typically have pretty strong opinions about what we love and what we could do without in Disney World.
Simply because we’re human, we all have different ideas about what the best ride is, which snack is superior, and the things in the parks that really aren’t all that great. And sometimes, you might feel like you’re the ONLY person that feels some typa way about a Disney fan-favorite. But, you might realize you’re not so alone after all. That’s why we asked YOU, our readers, to send us your unpopular Disney opinions to see how they stack up against everyone else’s!
We’ll start off with one of the most quintessential Disney snacks — dole whip. You know we love this stuff. We show you all the different ways you can get it served up, and even some of our best dole whip hacks. But for some people, it just isn’t their favorite!Â
Over half of respondents indicated that, yes, dole whip holds a special place in their hearts too! But dole whip haters, there are still a few of you!
Now let’s get into the tricky business of favorite parks! Each Disney park has something special to offer. In Magic Kingdom, you’ll find rich history and classic attractions. It’s the park that started it all! EPCOT features a look into the future of technology AND a journey around the world. Disney’s Hollywood Studios provides thrills, glitz and glamour, and a galaxy far, far away. But some may argue that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is their number one.
About 25% of respondents are all about that Animal Kingdom life! And we don’t blame them — where else can you find banshees, dinos, tigers, yetis, and a super relaxing ambiance?
Next, we’re onto a pretty divisive snack. In Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll find the Milk Stand, serving up two frozen and fruity beverages.
And we’ve gotta admit, we definitely have strong feelings about this milk battle. One reader shared that they thought green milk is better than blue milk. And we, along with 78% of respondents, strongly disagree.
In 2017, Happily Ever After replaced Wishes as Magic Kingdom’s nighttime spectacular. The new fireworks show showcases heartwarming Disney animation, along with tons of special effects, catchy tunes, and even a special surprise!
Although fireworks are temporarily suspended, that didn’t stop one of you from telling us how you really feel about Happily Ever After. And the results were close! But, not close enough. Happily Ever After still seems to be the fan-favorite (and we can’t wait to see it again someday!).
Pandora — The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers a truly immersive environment. There’s so much to look at, from lush waterfalls to floating mountains! In the evenings, the land lights up with a bioluminescent glow. We even noticed a fresh coat of paint covering the grounds that will kick the glow up a notch!
Now, it seems that some of you may not be very impressed with Pandora at night! However, the majority (77%) still insists that it IS super incredible. We think it’s a really great detail that Imagineers brought to life.
Haunted Mansion is one of Disney World’s most iconic attractions, and it definitely has a cult following. We’ve seen tons of specialty merchandise related to the ride, and people go crazy for those hitchhiking ghosts!
But, some people just aren’t here for the happy haunts. 38% of respondents agreed that no, Haunted Mansion isn’t as impressive as some people make it out to be!
Since Disney World reopened last summer, FastPass+ has been temporarily suspended. This means guests must wait in a standby line for each attraction. However, since the parks are operating at limited capacity, lines tend to stay on the shorter side lessening the need for FastPass.
And, it seems that about a third of respondents are liking their experiences in the parks more without FastPasses! Maybe since it takes out a planning element from your trip, or because you get to experience some of Disney’s really cool queues (more on that later)!
Details are everything in Disney World, and that stands even when it comes to ride queues. Disney likes to make sure that you have something to be entertained by, even while you’re waiting in line. For example, Peter Pan’s Flight has an interactive queue that allows your shadows to react to objects, play with bells, and more.
The ride itself brings you along for a journey above London, and on to Neverland in an enchanted pirate ship. It’s pretty slow-moving and puts riders among classic scenes from Peter Pan. Well, this reader thinks the queue is more interesting than the ride and they’re NOT alone! Just over half of the respondents agreed!
Here at DFB, we’re all about snacks. Mickey bars, Mickey-shaped pretzels — you name it.
These snacks are decent, and they certainly scream, “Disney,” but are there better snacks in Disney World? We certainly think so. One reader thinks that Mickey ice cream bars are just not that good! But, lo and behold, 57% of respondents disagree.
Two attractions can be found in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance. Rise of the Resistance is undeniably one of the most popular rides in Disney World right now, and due to its use of a virtual queue (that fills up very quickly), not all guests have a chance at riding it.
Well, some readers think that Smugglers Run is the more fun Galaxy’s Edge attraction! It does have an interactive element to it as guests take on roles as pilots, engineers, and gunners on a flight aboard the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy! But ultimately, nearly 80% of respondents thought that Rise of the Resistance was the more enjoyable ride.
And those are some of your not-so-unpopular opinions! Follow along with us on Instagram for more fun polls, trivia, and daily videos from our trips to Disney World!

So sad they discontinued the Osborne family lights at Christmas
Pris says
You needed a third option on the question about Smugglers Run vs ROtR…that being…”Who the heck knows? We can’t get on either one!”
Kitty says
First, the dole whip was better When it was mixed with orange and not all pineapple. It’s even better when you get it with the rum added in! Second, my kids are STILL TICKED they dropped Wishes. All the projections in the world cannot compete with the original to them, and I kind of agree. We miss singing along: WISHHHHHESSSSSSS! Finally, the school bread is better than anything you can get in the Patisserie in France. Opened a can of worms there!
