In case you haven’t heard, 2021 is kind of a big year for Disney World. And for its 50th anniversary, Disney is bringing out the big guns to serve as Global Ambassador for the momentous occasion!
A former President of both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World, George A. Kalogridis has taken on the role. He’s got a lifelong connection to The Walt Disney Company, and now he will continue his journey with this new project.
Quite the multitasker, Kalogridis also currently serves as the President of Segment Development and Enrichment for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. That’s a LOT of words for a job title, so he’s clearly a big deal.
In addition to that, which sees him developing strategic and operational business initiatives for Disney sites across the world, Kalogridis is now also leveraging his global experiences as the official Global Ambassador for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
In this hefty position, he’s tasked with the not-so-small job of “welcoming the world to Orlando,” as Disney puts it. But if there’s anyone up to the job, it’s certainly Kalogridis.
He started working at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at the age of 17 in 1971 as a busboy, the year Disney World opened! So his history with the company goes way back to its origins.
From busboy, he worked ALL the way up to ranks to become President of Walt Disney World, after having also served as President of Disneyland Resort.
With his globe-trotting history and vast depth of experience with Disney, we are excited to see what Kalogridis does for Disney World’s 50th anniversary!
