If you’re thinking of booking a Disney World vacation in 2021 (especially for the 50th anniversary festivities!), you may notice one thing:Â not EVERY hotel is currently open!
It can be hard to determine exactly which hotels are currently open, and which hotels have official reopening dates. But don’t sweat it, we’ve got you covered!
Here’s a COMPLETE list of which Disney World hotels are open right now AND when more of your favorite resorts are reopening!

Disney World Hotels Reopened in Summer 2021
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was originally scheduled to reopen on October 4th, 2020, but that date was PUSHED BACK when it was announced that the resort would be getting a Moana-themed refurbishment!
Instead, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort reopened on July 19, 2021. And all of the guest rooms were reopened with the NEW Moana-inspired makeovers!
And Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge fully reopened on August 26, 2021!
Disney World Hotels Reopened in Fall 2021
In July 2021, we learned the reopening dates of the remainder of the currently closed Disney World Resort hotels. Disney’s All-Star Music Resort began welcoming guests once again on September 16, 2021!
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside reopened on October 14, 2021.
Riverside was followed by its sister Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter, which reopened on October 28, 2021!
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort was the final hotel to reopen. Originally, this hotel was scheduled to reopen on December 9, 2021. However, in September 2021, Disney announced that the reopening of All-Star Sports has been delayed indefinitely.
Disney shared that the reasoning for the closure was so the Sports-themed area could be refreshed at the hotel. But now we are happy to say that All-Star Sports reopened on March 31, 2022!
We’re especially excited because this means ALL of Disney World’s resort hotels have now officially reopened following the pandemic closures, at long last!

Rick Schubert says
What’s the secrecy as to why Disney isn’t providing opening dates for the other resorts? We pushed our vacation back from this spring of 2021 to the spring of 2022 simply because the French Quarter is still not available. We had to make the reservation at The Caribbean just to make sure we’re booked. As soon as we hear the French Quarter is open we plan to switch over. Are people like us slowing the opening by showing Disney we’re still willing to make reservations even though our favorite resorts are not open?
Lanez Cragan says
I wish they gave some sort of idea when Riverside might open again so that people can plan their trips. I don’t wanna stay anywhere else ðŸ˜
