There are LOTS of places in Disney World right now that are either being refurbed or built brand new!
Several projects are in preparation for Disney World’s 50th anniversary in October, and EPCOT is going through a HUGE transformation. But, there was one refurbishment project in particular that really caught our attention — the character pages at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort were being erased!
We noticed that the beloved characters (Ariel, Lightning McQueen, Nemo, and Simba) that greet guests when they enter the resort were disappearing. Simba was the only character who was still up on our last visit, but now he is gone and one of the other characters has reappeared!
Today, we saw that a shiny and new Lightning McQueen was back to welcome us to the resort!Â
The other three pages are still empty, however we will be checking back often to see if they look the same like McQueen, or if they are entirely different!
As the refurbs and construction projects continue around Walt Disney World, we’ll continue to give you the latest updates!

We just stayed at AoA over Thanksgiving 2020 and it looks like they made the art signs with a Pearl White background. Makes the color pop more. Well done Disney!!!
