There are a LOT of changes going on in Disney World ahead of the 50th Anniversary.
Polynesian Lobby
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, for instance, is currently undergoing a MAJOR refurbishment to the Great Ceremonial House lobby, the monorail station, and the guest rooms. Did you know the rooms are getting a Moana theme? And now we know WHEN we’ll be returning to stay at the improved Polynesian!
At this time, reservations are available for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Disney’s website indicates that the hotel is scheduled to reopen and accepting reservations for Late July.

When we looked at the Polynesian Village Resort’s website to search for a room, we saw that reservations are available beginning July 19th, 2021.

When you select a Standard Room beginning on that day, the pictures on the room details ARE the Moana room pictures.

Therefore, by the looks of it, when booking a room for this date, you should be staying in one of the newly refurbished rooms. And we reached out to a CM to confirm that those making reservations for July 19 will be in a Moana room.
They mentioned that YES, all Polynesian Village guest rooms WILL have the Moana look when they are available this summer.

The beautifully redesigned guest rooms feature an all-new color palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean and islands. This, of course, includes details, patterns, and textures from Moana!

Will the DVC rooms be Moana inspired?
At the prices listed above, I will be hard pressed to afford to stay there. TG I am a DVC member, but they will have to improve the “Village” perks if they are going to live up to their name. There just is not much going on there at those prices…
I’m so excited to stay at the Poly in October for my honeymoon! Not sure if we’ll do the village rooms or the VDC Villas.
I’ll never get to stay here now, but the rooms are lovely. I nearly stayed here on a special discount deal, but I had to cancel my trip that year. So close, yet so far. lol
Kenuestion of, the DVC section of the Resort has been open throughout construction, so at this time they don’t appear to be updating the DVC rooms. We’ll update if Disney announces this.
