More and more of traditional brick-and-mortar experiences are moving online for Disney, from movie premieres (like Raya and the Last Dragon) to shopping.
Due to the shift to e-commerce on shopDisney and elsewhere, Disney announced that 20% of Disney stores across North America would be CLOSING, sending Disney fans into a tizzy wondering if their nearby store would be one of the affected closures. (After all, where would you be able to find Spaghetti Stitch?!)
Now, you can confirm whether your local Disney Store will be staying OPEN or will CLOSE with the store location finder on shopDisney. There are FOUR colors to signify what type of Disney store is closest to your zip code. Blue means you have an open Disney Store near you, green means a Disney Baby store is nearby, orange denotes a Disney Store Outlet, and a red Mickey means that particular Disney Store is closing.
After clicking on a location that’s listed as “closing,” you’ll find a notice sharing that the store will be closing on or before March 23rd.
To find out if your local Disney Store is impacted, search for your zip code here.
If your Disney Store IS closing, take your time to be a little sad, but the GOOD news is that Disney merch is expanding in Target, and there’s always shopDisney for your merch fixes, so not ALL is lost. And whenever big merch drops online, we’ll be sure to let you know so you can get yours!

It’s actually 20% of *all* Disney Stores. Which their mention of 60+ in North America makes it actually about 1/3 of North America stores. 😔

Update – TODAY 5/21, Our Orem, UT store was notified they will be closing on 6/16, but are on no nationwide lists announced. They received the “Now It’s Time To Say Goodbye” signage this weekend and found out today.
This is tragic. We walked in for a magical morning to find castmembers holding back tears as they welcomed us in.
This was our closest Disney experience for 700 miles. Many of the castmembers of this location have been there for almost 15 years.
Our family is sending the store a Thank You package as a token of our love and appreciation.
