The Disneyland Resort is officially reopening next month.
We’re working on digesting ALL of the details about this reopening for you. For one, theme park reservations will be required for park entry, but that’s not the only stipulation guests will need to meet.
New state guidelines released earlier this month noted that theme parks will initially only be open to California residents. Now, the Disneyland reopening announcement has confirmed this.
In the reopening announcement, Disneyland notes, “Theme park reservations will be limited and subject to availability and, until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks in line with current state guidelines.”
Over the next several weeks, updated government guidelines will be developed in partnership with the California theme parks. As of the opening on April 30th, though, only California residents will have access to Disneyland.
Stay tuned to DFB as we continue to break down the Disneyland reopening announcement.

Just hopping in before the chaos to say YES they can do this, YES it is legal, and YES is it enforceable. Just as you are required to use biometrics to enter a park in Disney World, or show your personal ID when checking into a hotel or getting on an airplane, they will likely require proof of identity not only to buy the tickets, but to enter the park. Guests over a certain age will be required to show photo ID that prove that they are California residents in order to enter.
It’s really not that difficult a concept and a very logical, fair, and reasonable stipulation to opening.

So – only California residents meet the “health” requirements? I guess us healthy people who do not live in California are not wanted for our money supporting Disneyland, hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. Go going governor and people of California.

Just like they “require” all California residents who leave and then come back into the state to self quarantine for 10 days for the 6 months or so? I suspect that Disney (and Anaheim) will be more than willing to take anyone’s money, no matter where the personal ID is from. It is just more of the California CV19 security theater.

Vanessa, I completely disagree. How is this logical? I suppose Az should say Cali residents cannot come enjoy our golf courses and rent the Airbnb homes next to me in Scottsdale for the purpose of vacationing and beautiful weather seeing as California has had strict limitations.
Pretty hypocritical if you ask me. My thought is the Governor is trying to win favor from Cali residents for all the terrible decisions over the past year. That and he obviously doesn’t consider the impact on the hotels in the area considering most people won’t need a place to stay if they are within a decent drive time
