Here at Disney Food Blog, we love to take a “work hard, play hard” approach to our jobs covering ALL things Disney with our readers!
Sometimes, this leads us to unexpected places for impromptu photo shoots. That’s because we’re so committed to capturing the BEST photos for you all, even if that means photographing frosting FAR away from the parks!
Every day, we’re in the parks uncovering the latest and greatest in Disney fashion, merchandise, ride updates, and of course, FOOD! We do our due diligence to share our findings with you all in a timely manner, to ensure you are up to date on what to see, do, and eat in Disney World!
Now, in case you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at DFB — and how these photogenic updates come to light — let’s look at a hilarious example!
We recently shared a crucial DESSERT ALERT about Gideon’s Bakehouse selling CUPS. OF. FROSTING.
Skimming through the article, you’ll see LOTS of peanut butter eye candy! But what you don’t realize is the funny conversation happening on our DFB group chat that led to a spontaneous frosting photo shoot in a TOTALLY unexpected location!
As usual, we have the most amazing (and frequently uproarious) group text thread ever. It’s where we share photos and info with each other for social media and news posts! So when our reporter, Amber, snagged this tub of frosting, we knew we wanted to do it justice from every angle.
However, since she had already left Disney Springs, she displayed some serious cookie commitment by taking more frosting pics while she stopped to get gas in her car!
We’re more than happy to go the extra mile to give you the most BEAUTIFUL frosting photos, even if it means staging a shoot by some gas station shrubs!
This is just another day in the lives of the DFB team — and a glimpse into the hard-working, fun-loving group text that goes into your frosting pics!

That peanut butter icing looks so good! And the gas station photo is gorgeous, I never would have guessed it was taken on the side of the road. Thanks for going above and beyond!
