Sometimes, Disney World will close shops or rides for maintenance.
Classic Magic Kingdom attractions like the PeopleMover (we MISS you!) and the Hall of Presidents are currently unavailable, and Disney recently announced that the Main Street Confectionery would be shuttering soon for a pretty long refurb. But now, another Main Street, U.S.A. staple is closed.
The Main Street Cinema has shut its doors (theoretically) for a little spiffying! The old movie theater was converted a while ago into the Art of Disney store, and it sells Disney-inspired paintings and sculptures.
The entrance to the store now serves as an exit for Uptown Jewelers next door. A curtain covers up the shop and a Cast Member was standing nearby when we visited. So you’ll still be able to walk inside (kinda), but there’s not much to see!
Inside Uptown Jewelers, a sign directs guests through to Main Street Cinema, encouraging them to exit that way.
But don’t worry! While Main Street Cinema is closed, you can still get your artsy Disney fix at the recently reopened Bonjour Village Gifts. This Fantasyland shop will serve as the temporary home of all the Art of Disney merchandise.
Disney hasn’t announced how long this closure will last, but we’ll keep ya posted as we receive more news. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney updates!
