Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort reopened yesterday after being closed for a year.
Of course, we had to check it out! We spent our first day back exploring the larger-than-life decorations, checking out all the amenities that have reopened, and getting the DL on what new health and safety measures are in place for hotel guests. Now, it’s good to be back and all, but you can’t keep us from the Disney parks for all that long, so we got up this morning to see how Disney transportation works now from the hotel!
If you’ve ever stayed at the All-Star Resorts, you probably just had a flashback to standing in some VERY long lines waiting for a bus to and from the hotels. We’ve been there too. But, Disney has changed up the transportation situation a little bit at the newly reopened hotel and this morning, they had charter buses and Disney buses taking guests to and from the parks.
We asked a Cast Member about the new charter buses, and they said that it is meant to help with COVID capacity limits and keep the wait times low for guests. And, it seems to be working well. We hung out in the area for a little bit and at most people had to wait 5 minutes for another bus to pull up.
If you end up catching one of the charter buses, not only will you get to ride in cushioned seats, but you won’t have to hold onto your folded-up stroller either. Before you get on, strollers are placed under the bus.
So, it looks like getting to the Disney parks from the All-Star Resorts just got a little bit easier (and comfier) for now at least! Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates! And we will let you know if and when this transportation system changes.

Any idea if this is the case for Pop Century? I know we also have the Skyliner for Epcot and HS, but just curious about the bus situation..
DFB Sarah says
Melissa, we’ve had a reader tell us, yes, Pop is also using the charter buses in addition to regular buses, but we haven’t confirmed that ourselves. 🙂

Have you heard anything on the opening of the Port Orleans French Quarter
Possibly by Oct, 2021
DFB Sarah says
Judith, unfortunately we have not. We will update as soon as Disney releases information.
Angela Kolp says
This was nice to see 🙂 Does anyone know if charter buses are still running? Also, what are the best times to leave in the a.m. to avoid insane bus lines? Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Angela, the charter buses tend to run when crowd levels are particularly high, so it’s possible to see them anytime it’s busy. To avoid insane bus times, you would need to line well before they start running (check with your Resort front desk for times). If you prefer to take it easy in the mornings, you could wait until the initial rush is over and catch a bus later in the morning.

Are the wait times high for buses to the parks in Sept? We are staying at All star movie and don’t really want to spend our day waiting for buses? Also how far is it to each park and Disney springs?
