Dessert time in Disney World is basically the best time of the day with all of the incredible treats available. And, Disney Springs is home to one of the absolute BEST desserts across the property – cookies from Gideon’s Bakehouse!
The menu is stocked with cake, coffee, and massive cookies that are almost too good to share (but they’re certainly big enough). Since the opening of Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs, the store has become incredibly popular and kinda difficult to access due to its long lines. That’s why Gideon’s is sharing some tips to help you get your cookie fix!
So, what is the art of actually visiting Gideon’s Bakehouse, even now that the cookies are at a celebrity status? The bakery is chiming in with a few helpful tips and tricks on their Facebook page since Gideon’s has almost had to start operating like a “theme park ride.” Since Gideon’s can be so hard to get into, we are passing along the tips they shared on their Facebook page in hopes that it makes it a little easier for you. We’re also sharing a few tips of our own!
Gideon’s officially opens at 10AM — but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in line a little earlier! According to Gideon’s, people start lining up around 9AM, which is when the parking garages open at Disney Springs. If the line gets long enough (and trust us, it usually does), they’ll implement a Virtual Queue. After you sign up, you can hop around Disney Springs while you wait for your return text. Gideon’s estimates that on weekdays, the Virtual Queue typically launches between open and lunchtime, based on crowd levels.
It’s important to note that you might have to wait a while… like a few hours, even. The wait can last around two hours, so you can take a lunch break before making your way back to Gideon’s. Weekends are a lot busier, as expected, with the Virtual Queue sometimes starting before Gideon’s even opens and averaging at about a five-hour wait, Fridays through Sundays. We had to wait over 10 HOURS when Gideon’s first opened (yikes!). Now, that time has calmed down a little bit. Gideon’s approximation of 2-5 hours has been pretty accurate for us.
And Gideon’s has another little tip for ya: the earlier the arrival, the shorter the wait — most of the time. We’ve also noticed that the earlier in the day we arrive, the higher our chances are of getting in the queue! And after you receive your return text, the wait to enter Gideon’s Bakehouse is usually about 15 minutes. Guests will need to sign up for the Virtual Queue in person next to the bridge in front of Morimoto Asia before the queue closes (at around 6PM or 7PM each day). Gideon’s explains that they close the queue early to ensure guests already in it are waited on and the bakery can close on time.
The Disney Springs location doesn’t use delivery, shipping, or pre-order options like the original store at East End Market. This location, though, is 20 miles into Orlando. And speaking of the East End Market location…from our experience, this location has the SAME delicious treats for little to no wait! So if you can swing the 30-minute trip from Disney property, you’ll save a lot of time that would be spent waiting in that Virtual Queue.
Okay, so this info from Gideon’s is GREAT. Insider tips?! We’ll take ’em! But there are a few things you should know from our OWN experiences at Gideon’s (and trust us, we’ve been there a ton). First of all, you’re gonna want to seriously plan ahead for your trip to Gideon’s. Especially if you’re visiting on a weekend, you could be in Disney Springs for hours waiting your turn. That’s time you could be spending at a park or your resort, so make sure you don’t have any other pressing commitments while you’re chillin’ in Springs waiting.
Like we mentioned, your wait is likely to be shorter if you get there earlier rather than later. And make sure you snag your spot in line BEFORE 6-7PM. That’s when that virtual queue tends to close. Lastly, don’t be afraid to enjoy Disney Springs while you’re waiting! You can even make a dinner reservation and enjoy a nice sit-down meal — your virtual queue spot will still be waiting for ya when you’re done.
Even with the wait, we definitely recommend taking time out of your day in Disney Springs to visit the bakery and indulge in one (or a whole box) of the amazing cookies and treats at the store. And, you can keep up with everything new we find in Disney World by staying tuned to DFB!

Maybe a totally freak thing but we were at Disney Springs this past Sunday night and when I went to ask about the que, she told me if I came back at 10:30 pm that same night they would be opening up the que for late night admission. We walked up at 10:15, got right in line and were out of there with our cookie selection by 10:40!

Is there any way to get the menu before you go? I can’t eat nuts, and I would hate to make a trip and then wait in line only to find out all the cake slices that day have nuts.
Candice says
Their cookies are to die for. Our daughter and her family live not far from their East End Market location in Orlando and I’ve been told the cookies are a $1 cheaper there. We ate at Raglan Road for my husband’s birthday Christmas week and our daughter and her family had a Virtual Que reservation later that night. They got me one of the chocolate chip cookies and they are absolutely worth waiting for.

I call it the Gideon’s Gallop – if you’re not walking as quickly as possible out of the Orange Garage at 9:05 am, you’ll be waiting even longer. This morning, by 9:15, the line was already to Morimoto’s front doors. They opened the virtual queue by about 9:50-55. I thought about going, but then I found out last night they didn’t make the PB Chocolate Swirl cookie cake slices. I wanted more for my freezer!

Valerie, one of our onsite reporters says they should always have a nut-free cake option, though it may not always be a double-frosted.

We went on Friday 2 weeks ago; we put our name on the virtual cue list about 10:30 and we were in by 12.

Yes, I live locally and love going to the Gideon’s at the East End Market on Corrine. The prices are a $1 cheaper like the other guest said. Love that place.
DFB Gigi says
Yes! It’s in such a neat location, Candice! I love stopping by and wandering through all the other little shops as well.
