From reusable utensils to recycling and compost initiatives, Disney has been coming out with some seriously innovative ways to help the environment.
And now Disney has announced that they’ve met their previous 2020 environmental goals and have even set new environmental goals for the coming years.
Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Animals, Science and Environment for Disney Parks has stated that the environmental goals the company has set for the previous year have been met.
Penning also announced that the company has already developed new environmental goals they want to achieve by 2030. The Walt Disney Company plans on reaching zero emissions for operations, reducing the amount of waste being sent to landfills, and even using lower-impact products.
With a focus on sustainability, Disney has even planned several events to celebrate Earth Month. From learning more about the parks and hearing from Cast Members, Disney has big plans to share more info about all their environmental goals. And they are celebrating Earth Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in BIG ways. There will be all-new treats, new character interactions, and MORE. Some treats are already being released!
