Ever wanted to take a train from Orlando International Airport directly to Disney World? Well, eventually you might be able to! Brightline is currently working on plans for a train that is set to connect the airport and Disney Springs.
This train was originally targeting a 2023 opening date, but that has now potentially been pushed back all the way to 2026. We’ve looked at how much the train might cost, how Disney might get you and your luggage from the train station to your Disney hotel, and other things. But, now we’ve got another update in terms of WHERE the train station at Disney Springs might be!
According to the Orlando Business Journal (OBJ), Brightline is working on where the Disney Springs station might be and how it would enter and exit that station. During a presentation made earlier in March, Brightline presented the map below.
According to OBJ, the Brightline representative indicated that the orange areas represent “areas of ongoing study” as Brightline continues to look for the best routes into the proposed Disney station.
The exact location of the Disney station hasn’t been revealed yet, but the map might give us some clues.
The Orlando Business Journal overlaid the map onto a geographical map of the Disney area. When they did that, it made it look as though the station could be placed near the southern end of Disney Springs. You can see the Disney Springs area in that left corner near the red marker.
Brightline notes, however, that if the track veers a bit to the north (as it could based on the orange outline) then the station might be placed in a part of undeveloped land between Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and some Disney staff offices.
A newer OBJ article notes that they have learned one possible stop for the train might be incorporated into the Orange Parking Garage in Disney Springs, according to sources with knowledge of the plans.
But, as OBJ notes, these are all just potential, early plans. These plans may be changed significantly or even scrapped as the development and planning process moves along.
Additionally, they note that a deal isn’t finalized yet for building the rail line into and out of Disney World. Disney and Brightline previously did reach a deal for building the train station at Disney Springs, but that is conditioned on Brightline’s satisfaction of certain obligations.
As we shared previously, Brightline was recently given a deadline to meet with regards to reaching various agreements to build its extension from the airport to the Disney station and onto Tampa.
Reportedly, Disney told OBJ it had “nothing more to share” at this time.
So, many details have yet to be revealed, but based on Brightline’s maps and some information shared by OBJ, we have a bit better of an idea of where this Disney station could be placed. Again, all of these are just potential proposals at the moment and it is all subject to change. We’ll keep an eye out for more details and share those with you when we learn more.

If the train is not going to be running til 2026, how does Disney expect guests to get from the airport to the resort hotels since Magical Express is being eliminated? For the sake of their guests, “ the happiest place on Earth” had better give this some serious consideration.
