When our chocolate cravings kick in, we’ve got TONS of options in Disney World! From Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate to our beloved Nyala Brownie, the sweet treats are endless!
But sometimes we just want a regular ol’ piece of chocolate, ya know? In which case we found the perfect option in the form of NEW chocolates from Sprinkles in Disney Springs!
Sprinkles is known for its specialty cupcakes and literal cupcake ATM. Now, they’re throwing another sweet option into the mix, in the form of chocolates. This new box of chocolates includes flavors and colors inspired by their most popular cupcakes!
These boxes come stocked with four different flavors, including Sprinkles’ fan-fave, Red Velvet!
It’s mostly white chocolate with a layer of red velvet chocolate on the bottom and that famous Sprinkles dot on top. We thought it was sweet (no shocker there), but still on the lighter side in comparison to standard chocolates.
On the opposite end of the sweet spectrum was the Sprinkle Chocolate, which is all white chocolate coated in sprinkles.
This one was VERY sweet and pretty sugary! It’s colorful and Instagrammable, but this was our least favorite of the bunch.
The Dark Chocolate was a nice counterpoint to the Sprinkle, since it was rich and bitter.
The Black and White is dark chocolate on the inside, with white chocolate on the outside, and chocolate sprinkles on top. This one was nice and light, but not quite as light as the Red Velvet.
All in all, it’s nice to get a variety of flavors together like this, especially the iconic Red Velvet! The flavors weren’t especially groundbreaking, and although they’re inspired by cupcakes, it’s essentially just a simple box of chocolates.
Yeah, these are cute, colorful, and taste just fine. But friends. This box of four simple pieces of chocoalte costs $32. You read that right…$32 for basic chocolate, with no filling and basic flavors!!
Keep in mind, most cupcakes on the menu are $5 each, so you can get a treat that’s a little more substantial for a similar price. And, there are SO many and we mean SO many sweets around Disney World that blow these chocolates out of the water in terms of price and flavor. While there was nothing wrong with the flavors here, you can bet we won’t be dishing out another $32 on a box of cupcake-flavored chocolates again.
I mean, for just $3 more, you could feed a group of four with an entire Kitchen Sink from Beaches and Cream. And that seems much more worth it to us! What are your thoughts on these overpriced chocolates? Let us know!
