It’s April, and that means Earth Day is coming up soon!
Disney has announced LOTS of ways that we’ll get to celebrate our planet this month — including some awesome new treats! We’ve already gotten to try out the Honey Bee Cupcake and The Loggerhead drink. Now, we’re trying another bee-based dessert!
Today, we stopped by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to try the new Earth Day Bee Hive Cake! It’s made of buttermilk-honey chiffon cake with crunchy almond mousse, covered in toasted meringue.
And doesn’t it look GORGEOUS?!

This cake is SO photogenic…and we’re happy to report that it tastes amazing, too! We will say it was kinda tricky to scoop into due to its shape, but boy was it moist and light. We were happy to work hard for it!
The meringue was nice and airy, making this a perfect springtime treat. The cake as a whole also wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet, so if you’re lookin’ for something that isn’t a sugar overload, you may wanna try this.
And guys: there were sliced almonds inside! They added an amazing crunch.
This cake is also pretty big, which makes it shareable! You can try it out RIGHT NOW at Gasparilla Island Grill. Snag it for $7.99, but hurry! It’s only around through April 22nd.
