It’s a very special day in the Disney World area!
Disney World is located in Orange County and there’s a super special, county-specific holiday today. Looking for lunch from the Orlando area? Then you can help celebrate!
Today is April 7th, A.K.A. 4/07, which marks #407 Day! According to WFTV 9, this day focuses on showing support for local restaurants and their employees in Central Florida.
The special day is inspired by Orange County’s area code, 407, and encourages residents to dine in, get takeout, or order delivery from their favorite local restaurants. 2020’s #407 Day saw nearly 300 Orange County restaurants participate.
Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said, “Our restaurant community has always represented a vital part of who we are as a region. This year, we are proud to continue to show our support for our restaurants through ‘#407 Day.’ Although it has been challenging, we are resilient and we continue to always have a neighbors helping neighbors philosophy. I encourage our residents to enjoy the time out or order takeout or delivery.“
Of course, you don’t have to be a resident to participate! You can also join in the fun as a visitor. To support local restaurants, just post your recommendations, experiences, and photos on social media using the hashtag “#407Day.”
