There are TWO big openings happening at Disneyland Resort later this year. First, of course, the parks are going to REOPEN to California residents after a yearlong closure on April 30th!
And, recently we learned that Disney California Adventure Park’s BRAND NEW land, Avengers Campus will open SOON after!
The opening of a new land is always an exciting, historic time, and there is SO MUCH INFORMATION out there about Avengers Campus, it can be hard to break it all down. Especially since so much of it was shared pre-closure! So weird to think about, right?! But don’t sweat it. Here’s a handy guide to EVERYTHING we know about Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure so far!
When is Avengers Campus Opening?
Disney California Adventure is reopening on April 30th, but Avengers Campus will still be behind construction walls at that time.
But, not too long after its reopening, you’ll be able to assemble with the Avengers in Anaheim! Previously, Disney had indicated that the land would open “later this year.” Recently, we got an OFFICIAL reopening date. Disney has announced that Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is set to open on June 4th!!
We can’t wait to step inside!

What Rides Will be Opening with Avengers Campus?
Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT!
There will be TWO rides that will open as a part of Avengers Campus on June 4th, but only one of them will be new. Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT! (the rockin’ retheme of the old Tower of Terror) is one of the rides reopening at Disneyland Resort when the parks first reopen on April 30th.
This ride was previously a part of Hollywood Land, but it will officially become a part of Avengers Campus!
Click here to see why the Guardians of the Galaxy ride will play a much bigger role in Avengers Campus than you first thought!
WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure
A brand new ride will also be opening as part of Avengers Campus soon — WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure! Disney has recently shared that this ride will open up on June 4th.
In early March, Disney shared a behind-the-scenes look at this interactive ride where you’ll be able to shoot webs at Spider-Bots, helping Spider-Man himself!

Character Encounters
There are also set to be two immersive areas to wander through and see your favorite Avengers. The first is the Sanctum. Here, you’ll be able to explore ancient ruins and the fascinating Orb of Cagliostro. You may even see Doctor Strange teaching guests about the mystic arts! The Orb is said to be particularly stunning at night.
You can also see Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Black Widow in a rooftop stunt show!!
And if any villains, like Taskmaster, appear, you can bet that the heroes here will be ready to defend the Avengers Headquarters. But you won’t just get to watch them duke it out of rooftops, but you may see Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star Lord, Gamora and Groot, Thor and Loki, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Dr. Strange and Captain Marvel walking around as well.
Avengers Campus is also set to feature a FLYING Spider-Man! No, not a live stunt performer — we’re talking about a flying ANIMATRONIC.
WHAT?! Yes.

Quinjet Experience
There will also be a second E-Ticket attraction that is set to open during Phase 2 of Avengers Campus at a later date. On this attraction, guests will board a Quinjet and travel to Wakanda to join a team of Marvel superheroes in battle! On top of this, the ride will feature seats that double as a weapons system and jet packs. Yes, you read that right. Sounds so incredible.
So, you won’t be able to experience this ride on June 4th. But, we’ll keep an eye out for more updates on it.

What Restaurants Are Coming to Avengers Campus?
PYM Test Kitchen
You know us — we’re all about the food! And Avengers Campus will have lots of BIG and small dishes at PYM Test Kitchen, which is inspired by Ant-Man and The Wasp!
We don’t have the final menus for Pym Test Kitchen yet, but Disneyland’s website has three menu pages built: Lounge, Snack, and Lunch and Dinner. Disney previously teased a few potential menu items, including a Not So Little Chicken Sandwich, Quantum Pretzels, the plant-based Impossible Spoonful (a MASSIVE meatless meatball), PYM-ini Sandwich, a Teeny PYM-ini, a deconstructed PB&J, foot-long candy bars, and MORE!
Be sure to come with a BIG appetite (or your own collection of heroes to share dishes with)! Also, be sure to bring your cellphone as PYM’s Test Kitchen will offer mobile ordering when it opens with Avengers Campus!

PYM Tasting Lab
PYM Tasting Lab will be the new bar adjacent to PYM Test Kitchen! This spot is set to serve beer-based cocktails and hard seltzers, and the beer will be poured a la Dr. Strange-style from the bottom up! Mystical!
We know about some of the cocktails planned for this spot like the Regulator, a Golden Road Mango Cart Wheat Ale with Patron Silver, lime juice, and habanero-mango syrup and Honey Buzz, an Elysian Space Dust IPA, Plymouth gin, lemon juice, and honey syrup with an edible straw.
If you’re hungry after all these super cocktails, you’ll be able to munch on Snack Molecules from this spot, which is a mix of caramel popcorn, mini-pretzels, peanuts, and Sriracha or strawberry cheesecake-flavored popped sorghum!

The Shawarma Palace
The Shawarma Palace, a nod to a fan-favorite “Avengers” post-credits scene, is a food cart set for Avengers Campus!
Our tummies are already grumbling at the thought of the proposed warm chicken wrap with garlic sauce, and a vegetarian Impossible Victory Falafel with hummus and crusted cauliflower, both of which can be dipped in a lemon tahini sauce!
Learn more about The Shawarma Palace here!
Terran Treats
Disneyland churros will be reinvented at Terran Treats, with spiralized churros in SUPER bright shades of orange, purple, pink, green, and blue!
This cart, which is expected to be near Mission: Breakout, will also serve Cosmic Cream Orbs which are kind of like a raspberry cheesecake pate a choux!

And How About Shopping?
WEB Suppliers and The Campus Supply Pod
What is a Disneyland without merch?! We’ve already seen the Spider-Bots for sale at Disneyland, and you’ll be able to find those at WEB Suppliers along with specialized backpacks for your Spider-Bot friends! Much like the droids in Galaxy’s Edge, the Spider-Bots will be customizable.
Disney has also teased that there will be other “cutting-edge inventions and other up-to-the-minute technologies developed by the Worldwide Engineering Brigade’s brightest minds” at this store, and we have a feeling there will be plenty of Avengers gear and clothing for sale too!
There will also be kits to create your own spider webs and spider light goggles, which sound like a fun project for after your vacation!
The Collector’s Warehouse
The Collector’s Warehouse, the gift shop on the ground floor of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, will also become a part of Avengers Campus!
Here, you can find plenty of Marvel merch including comic books, movies, clothing, action figures, toys, and other collectibles that will make The Collector jealous!
If you’re looking to stock up on Marvel merch, you’ll have quite the options to pick from!
Click here to take a look at the Avengers Campus merch we’ve already been able to take a look at!
Avengers Campus is also set to be incredibly immersive. Previously, Disney had an incredible hiring process for selecting the Cast Members for the land where candidates actually had to come up with their own superhero identity and solve a series of puzzles before getting to a formal interview.
These are just the BIG things we know about Avengers Campus so far! Sometimes the BEST parts of Disney theme parks are all of those little details and magical touches that come from walking around. We’ve still got some time until Avengers Campus opens up (we’re counting the days!!!), so when new information comes out about this exciting new area, we’ll be sure to tell you ALL about it!
