There are a number of restaurants that have yet to reopen at Disney World following last year’s closures, including Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!

While Beach Club is not scheduled to reopen until May 3oth, we noticed some activity happening at Cape May Cafe that caught our attention!
While we were visiting Beach Club recently, we spotted several Cast Members in the kitchen area of Cape May Cafe.

We also spotted a row of desserts lined up in the kitchen area as well! Perhaps Cast Members are being called back for training at this restaurant?

What could all of this mean? Is Cape May Cafe preparing to reopen ahead of Beach Club? When we asked a Cast Member about any reopening plans, we were told that nothing had been announced or shared at this time! Keep in mind that the Disney Vacation Club Villa portion of Beach Club is currently open to guests, not to mention Beaches and Cream has been open since last summer!

We have dined at Cape May Cafe several times. It’s one of our favorite character breakfasts.In fact we even have a favorite server, Dottie, that we request whenever we do go. The first time we ever dined there she was our server and she was so fantastic with our children that we continue to request her. That was about 18 years ago. The clam bake dinner is also outstanding. We are staying at Beach Club this July and if Cape May is open that would be amazing.
Hoping that when Cape May does open, it will make getting a booking at Beaches and Cream a little easier.
We are desperate to go there for an ice Cream sundie but cannot get a reservation!
I am hoping a lot more restaurants will be open by the time I go (coming in the Sunday after Thanksgiving) and maybe the 60 day window to make reservations will be extended to 90 days? This will be the 1st time for my ‘adopted’ grands and I want to show them ‘My Parks’!
I had dinner there for the first time in 2019 and loved it! Everyone was so kind and helpful. The crab legs were phenomenal! They brought me a beautiful cupcake with a white chocolate seashell on top for my birthday. If it does open back up, it will definitely be on my list of restaurants to revisit.
Cape May is my favorite the food is great the price is good for what you get a lot of sea food salads on and on a great value for your money . I go to Disney I go to Cape May every time .
