Disney World Cast Members have a way of making every single guest feel special when they enter the parks.
But extra magic was waiting for one man who ran all the way from Disneyland to Disney World. Yes! HE RAN! And he’s the first person who’s ever done that.
Don Muchow, who is a self-professed Disney fan (along with his wife), decided to use his ultrarunner and Ironman training to run 2,761 miles from Disneyland in California to Disney World in Florida. He began his record-breaking feat in February, logging more than 30 miles per day. How’s that for impressive?
When the 59-year-old arrived at Magic Kingdom, he was greeted by Cast Members who were applauding and cheering him on. And he celebrated by having a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar and a ride on “it’s a small world” which is his favorite attraction.
Don’s mission? To raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes, which he also has. He hopes his endeavor will inspire and empower other diabetics. Mission accomplished!

An incredible feat for sure, Disney should have done better…I can’t believe they didn’t give him a room…

Hi, guy who ran from Disneyland to Disney World here. Just want to clarify that Disney treated us like royalty and indeed invited us to enjoy rides and food…but unfortunately I had to run 15 more miles that day, because the Mouse2Mouse run was actually part of an even longer transcontinental run from CA to the Florida coast. So we really only had time for one ride, our favorite “it’s a small world,” and a quick snack (I can’t really eat “all the food” because it would just spike my blood sugar). I wasn’t about to pass up sharing a small Mickey ice cream with my wife! Believe me, it was truly, truly magical.
